More than 86% of voters in Kazakhstan have supported the draft of the country’s new constitution, according to an exit poll conducted on referendum day.
Some 86.7% of surveyed citizens voted in favor of adopting the new constitution, citing data from the Institute of Eurasian Integration, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
According to the report, the exit poll was carried out at 200 polling stations across Kazakhstan, with around 30,000 respondents taking part in the survey. Researchers noted that the margin of statistical error does not exceed 1%, indicating strong preliminary support for the constitutional reform.
Exit polls are conducted outside polling stations immediately after voters cast their ballots and are commonly used to gauge early public sentiment before official results are announced.
