The harvesting campaign has begun in eight regions of Kazakhstan, with early results already showing substantial yields.
So far, the country has harvested 903,900 hectares of grain crops, 5,700 tons of oilseeds, 343,600 tons of potatoes, 1.1 million tons of vegetables, and 1.4 million tons of melons and gourds, The Caspian Post informs Kazakh media.
A total of 1.2 million tons of grain has been threshed.
The main harvesting period is scheduled to start in the third decade of August, involving significant resources: around 139,000 tractors, 31,000 combine harvesters, 17,000 threshers, and 130,000 other vehicles.
To support the campaign, 402,000 tons of diesel fuel have been allocated to the regions at a preferential price of 254 tenge per liter, making it 18-20 per cent cheaper than the market rate.
