Kazakh Diplomas Get Green Light in Asia

Kazakhstan has taken a major step toward expanding academic and professional mobility across Asia, as President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed into law a document ratified by parliament that enables the recognition of Kazakh higher education diplomas in Asian countries.

“The Head of State has signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the ratification of the Asia-Pacific Regional Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education,” The Caspian Post reports via Akorda.

Known as the Tokyo Convention, the agreement is designed to simplify academic mobility and ensure the recognition of diplomas and professional qualifications across participating countries in Asia. It establishes fair and transparent mechanisms for recognizing higher education credentials obtained in member states.

The convention applies to a wide range of countries, including Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, creating new opportunities for students and professionals alike.

As a result, graduates of Kazakh universities will find it easier to continue their studies or pursue careers abroad, while foreign specialists will also benefit from clearer and more accessible recognition procedures when working in Kazakhstan.
