Kazakh Leader Serves Up Warm Welcome to Table Tennis Legends

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has attended the Open Table Tennis Cup of the President of Kazakhstan, one of the country's largest new sporting events.

The president watched an exciting show match featuring world table tennis legends, including Olympic champion Xu Xin (China), world champion Werner Schlager (Austria), world team champion Fang Bo (China), and World Championships silver medalist Joo Sae-hyuk (Republic of Korea), The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The inaugural tournament has attracted over 300 participants from 14 countries, among them players ranked in the top 100 of the ITTF world rankings, as well as Kazakhstan’s leading athletes.

Earlier, President Tokayev and Finnish President Alexander Stubb visited the National Museum in Astana, where they explored unique cultural artifacts from Kazakhstan’s ancient and modern history.
