Kazakhstan Boosts Medal Count at 12th World Games in China

Kazakhstan has continued strengthening its medal tally at the 12th World Games currently underway in Chengdu, China with another podium finish announced by the Kazakh Culture and Sports Ministry.

In the men’s 77 kg jiu-jitsu final, Kazakhstan’s athlete Nursultan Duisenkulov fought valiantly but narrowly missed out on gold, losing 11-15 to Denmark’s Lucas Andresen and earning the silver medal, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Earlier in the event, Kazakh athlete Abu-Bakir Zhanibek secured gold in the men’s 69 kg fighting category, while Aslan Kanatbek took home bronze in the men’s 62 kg final.

The World Games, a major international multi-sport event, are running from August 7 to 17, 2025.

In related news, 17-year-old Zhibek Kulymbetova made headlines last year by capturing two gold medals at the 2024 Grappling World Championships held in Astana, achieving her tenth world championship title.
