Kazakhstan is strengthening economic cooperation with one of China’s most powerful provinces as both countries move to expand trade, investment, and industrial partnerships.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Nurlybek Nalibayev met with Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, during the Chinese official’s first visit to Kazakhstan, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
The talks focused on advancing regional cooperation and implementing agreements reached by the leaders of Kazakhstan and China to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Nalibayev highlighted China’s role as one of Kazakhstan’s most important trade and investment partners and praised Jiangsu Province’s impressive economic performance. With a gross regional product exceeding $2 trillion, Jiangsu ranks among China’s leading economic powerhouses.
The Kazakh official said that cooperation with Jiangsu holds significant promise in key sectors including industrial development, production localization, innovation, transport and logistics, and the digital economy.
For its part, the Chinese delegation expressed readiness to intensify direct business ties and expand cooperation between Jiangsu and Kazakhstan’s regions. Xin Changxing emphasized Kazakhstan’s growing importance as a logistics hub, noting its strategic role in facilitating cargo transportation along the China-Europe trade corridor.
A major focus of the discussions was the newly opened Central Asia-Jiangsu Center in Astana, launched on June 11, 2026. The center is expected to serve as a platform for technology exchange, investment promotion, and business collaboration, creating new opportunities for companies from both sides.
