Kazakhstan Dismantles Porn Studio Network Run by Couple

Police officers in Abai Region have detained a married couple accused of organizing a network of porn studios operating in several cities across Kazakhstan.

Investigators say the couple carefully divided responsibilities: one focused on recruiting young women with model-like appearances, while the other handled the logistics of filming explicit content, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The material was sold online, turning the operation into a profitable illicit business. Both suspects are now in custody as the investigation continues.

The arrest echoes a high-profile case in Shymkent, where in 2023 a foreign national was sentenced to 12 years in prison for leading a transnational criminal group that created one of the first online porn studio networks in the country.

At the time, police officers detained multiple suspects, including citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, and flagged the operation as part of a broader cross-border criminal scheme.
