Kazakhstan Enters Global Top 30 for Charitable Giving

Kazakhstan has made it to the top 30 countries in the world for charitable activity, with nearly half of its population actively giving a helping hand to those in need.

According to a 2025 international study, 49.7% of Kazakh residents donated money or goods for charitable causes in the past month. The ranking was based on the share of respondents who made recent contributions, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Interestingly, the global leaders were not the wealthiest nations. Indonesia topped the list with 86% of residents giving to charity, followed by Myanmar at 83.2%. Developed countries showed lower participation despite higher income levels: the UK at 68.4%, the US at 58.6%, and Germany at 54.8%.

Among CIS and EAEU countries, Kazakhstan ranked second, behind Uzbekistan (53.9%, 25th in the world). Other countries in the region ranked lower: Russia at 48.8%, Kyrgyzstan at 37.1%, and Tajikistan at 27.4%. The lowest participation was recorded in Morocco, where only 3.8% of respondents reported donating.
