Kazakhstan Opens Innovation Gateway to China with New Tech Hub in Shanghai

Kazakhstan has inaugurated the Khan Tengri Innovation Hub in Shanghai’s Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, also known as China’s Silicon Valley, aiming to help Central Asian startups and IT companies break into the Chinese market.

This marks Kazakhstan’s first innovation center in China, a strategic step to boost regional tech entrepreneurship on a global scale, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The hub has already partnered with the Chinese startup accelerator XNode, offering tailored programs for startups across all development stages.

Speaking at the launch event, Kazakh Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev emphasized the hub’s critical role in elevating Kazakh startups abroad.

“China is a massive market that has given rise to numerous unicorns,” Madiyev said. “We see it not only as a path to Western markets but also as an entry point to China’s vast and largely untapped opportunities.”

He encouraged entrepreneurs across the region to join the hub and benefit from its strategic positioning and resources.
