Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called on Turkic nations to launch joint space projects, saying the countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have enough scientific and technological potential to build a competitive space industry together.
Speaking at the Informal OTS Summit in Turkistan, Tokayev said cooperation in satellite communications, navigation systems, and space monitoring technologies should become a strategic priority for the Turkic world, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
“The space industry is one of the key factors enhancing the competitiveness of Turkic states,” Tokayev stated, emphasizing that member countries possess the scientific, financial, and technological resources needed to systematically develop the sector.
The Kazakh president noted that joint projects in space technologies would not only deepen integration among Turkic nations but also strengthen their technological independence and accelerate innovation.
The proposal comes as OTS members increasingly focus on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and high-tech cooperation during the summit in Turkistan.
