Kazakhstan’s economy posted a 6.3 per cent year-on-year growth in January-July 2025, according to preliminary data released by the National Statistics Bureau.
The expansion was driven by strong performances in both goods production, which rose 8.3 per cent, and services, which grew 5.2 per cent, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Industrial output increased by 6.9 per cent over the period.
Transport and warehousing led the gains with a surge of 22.5 per cent, followed by construction (+18.5 per cent), wholesale and retail trade (+8.6 per cent), mining (+8.5 per cent), and manufacturing (+6.1 per cent). The trade sector’s growth accelerated to 8.6 per cent from 8.4 per cent in the first half of the year, with wholesale trade up 9.5 per cent and retail trade up 6.6 per cent year-on-year.
In manufacturing, machine building saw the largest jump at 14 per cent, followed by food production (+9.2 per cent), petroleum products (+8.6 per cent), chemical products (+6 per cent), and metallurgy (+1.3 per cent).
Gross agricultural output maintained steady growth of 3.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
