Kazakhstan has activated an emergency plan to redirect oil exports following a drone attack on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) facilities at Novorossiysk port.
On November 29, at 06:06 (GMT+5), unmanned watercraft targeted the CPC’s maritime infrastructure near Novorossiysk, The Caspian Post informs via Ukrainian media.
The attack caused serious damage to the VPU-2 offshore loading unit, which has been taken out of service pending full repair and restoration.
To minimize disruptions and maintain production levels at major oil fields, Kazakhstan has urgently implemented alternative export routes for its crude oil.
The Energy Ministry emphasized that the situation remains under strict government control to ensure continued energy operations and safeguard national interests.
