Between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. (GMT+5), Kazakhstan's Almaty city saw 58 traffic accidents with nine people injured and no fatalities.
Chief of Almaty’s Administrative Police Department, Serik Shumayev, noted that patrols are operating in enhanced mode, responding promptly to incidents and assisting municipal services with street cleaning and road treatment, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution, adjust to winter conditions, and follow traffic rules. For comparison, Astana reported 93 accidents on December 9 amid heavy snowfall.
