Ruslan Zheldibay has been relieved of his duties as Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan and Press Secretary of the President.
Born in 1989 in the Zhambyl region, Zheldibay holds degrees from Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University and the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
He began his media career in 2012 at Kazakhstan TV as an editor and later worked as a producer at Almaty TV. His professional path also included senior roles at the Information and Communications Committee under the Ministry of Information and Social Development, where he served as deputy chairman from 2019 to 2020.
Zheldibay went on to hold key positions within the presidential administration and government, including deputy chief of the domestic policy sector at the President’s Executive Office and deputy chief of the Prime Minister’s Office. In April 2022, he was appointed Press Secretary of the President, later taking on the expanded role of Assistant to the President for domestic policy and communications in 2023. He had served as Assistant to the President and Press Secretary since last September.
Earlier, it was also reported that Svetlana Zhakupova was relieved of her post as Kazakhstan’s minister of labor and social protection.
