Kazakhstan Sees Potential in Turkmenistan–Iran Transit Route

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has highlighted the promise of the Russia-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transport corridor with seaport access, describing it as a key area for developing transit traffic.

In an interview with Turkistan newspaper, Tokayev noted Kazakhstan’s active role in China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the International North-South Transport Corridor, and the Trans-Caspian (Middle) Corridor, welcoming China’s participation in the project, The Caspian Post reports via Turkmen media.

He emphasized that the transport and logistics sector has enormous potential, linking nearly all areas of Kazakhstan’s economy. Plans include building modern transport hubs, upgrading seaports, airports, and railway stations, and creating an efficient digital ecosystem to support transit and logistics growth.
