Grain shipments from Kazakhstan to Armenia have officially commenced, traveling through Azerbaijan.
On November 5, 15 railcars loaded with wheat from Kazakhstan crossed the Russia-Azerbaijan border and proceeded along the Azerbaijani route, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
The cargo is moving via the Yalama-Bilajari-Hajigabul-Boyuk-Kesik railway line and is scheduled to arrive at the Dalarik station in Armenia, following 15 railcars that reached Armenia from Russia on November 4.
The transit comes after Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced during his visit to Kazakhstan on October 21 that previous restrictions on cargo transiting through Azerbaijan to Armenia had been lifted, enabling smoother regional trade and fostering stronger economic connectivity.
