Travel between Poland and Kazakhstan is set to become easier as LOT Polish Airlines launches a new direct route connecting Warsaw and Almaty, opening fresh opportunities for tourism, business, and investment between Europe and Central Asia.

The new service was officially unveiled at Warsaw Chopin Airport during a ceremony attended by representatives of Kazakhstan's Embassy in Poland, government officials, business leaders, tourism stakeholders, and LOT Polish Airlines executives, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Kazakh diplomats described the route as an important milestone in expanding cooperation between the two countries. The direct connection is expected to deepen trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, and tourism ties while making travel more convenient for citizens and businesses.

The launch marks another step in strengthening air connectivity between Central Asia and Europe. While LOT Polish Airlines has operated direct flights between Astana and Warsaw since 2017, the addition of Almaty - Kazakhstan’s largest city and a major financial, cultural, and tourism center - significantly expands travel options.

The new route will drive passenger growth, increase business exchanges, and support broader bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Poland.

The service also aligns with Kazakhstan’s ambitions to establish itself as a key aviation and transit hub linking Europe and Asia.

Flights between Warsaw and Almaty will operate four times a week using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, offering travelers a faster and more direct connection between the two strategic destinations.

The announcement comes as Kazakhstan continues to expand its international aviation network, with Air Astana also preparing to launch new flights from Astana and Almaty to Larnaca, Cyprus.
