Margulan Baimukhan Takes on Dual Role as Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Thailand and UNESCAP Rep

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed Margulan Baimukhan as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Thailand, as well as Kazakhstan’s Resident Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

In a separate development, Aidar Abildabekov was appointed Vice Minister of Trade and Integration by government decree, marking a key appointment within Kazakhstan’s trade sector, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.

Thailand and Kazakhstan have maintained diplomatic relations since 1996, fostering growing cooperation in trade, investment, culture, and tourism. Both countries have shown interest in expanding economic ties, particularly in sectors like energy, agriculture, and technology. Over the years, diplomatic visits and cultural exchanges have strengthened mutual understanding, while Kazakhstan’s strategic location as a gateway between Asia and Europe complements Thailand’s role in Southeast Asia, offering opportunities for enhanced regional collaboration.
