Kazakhstan is moving forward with plans to launch a gelatin and bioactive bone matrix production plant as part of a large-scale economic development program aimed at transforming the Kostanay region.
The project is among several major investments planned for Arkalyk under a comprehensive socio-economic development strategy for 2026-2028. The initiative was reviewed during a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and National Economy Minister Serik Zhumangarin, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.
The development plan covers 51 projects across key sectors, including industry, agriculture, transport, tourism, healthcare, education, utilities, and public safety. The goal is to strengthen industrial capacity, modernize infrastructure, attract investment, and create new jobs.
One of the flagship projects is the construction of a plant producing gelatin and bioactive bone matrix materials, products widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, medical, and biotechnology industries.
Arkalyk is also set to receive several other major agricultural investments, including a modular cattle reproduction facility for 6,000 head, a livestock complex for 10,000 sheep, a feedlot for 6,000 cattle, and a major expansion of a poultry farm that will increase production capacity to 300 million eggs annually. The poultry project will also include a new feed manufacturing plant.
Kostanay Region Governor Kumar Aksakalov said that 33 projects worth 78.4 billion tenge are scheduled for implementation this year alone, with 39.2 billion tenge already allocated.
