Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has described his current visit to Moscow as a “milestone event” that marks a new stage in the development of strategic and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia.
During his talks, Tokayev shared details of his two-hour private meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, noting that the leaders discussed a wide range of bilateral and international issues, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
The Kazakh leader emphasized that the visit holds “special historical significance” for both countries.
Russian Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko thanked Tokayev for the meeting, underlining the importance of his state visit and commending his article in Rossiyskaya Gazeta, which she said “beautifully reflects the depth and spirit of Russia-Kazakhstan relations.”
The discussions also covered trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as legislative collaboration. Both sides stressed the importance of ensuring strong parliamentary support for high-level agreements and maintaining close coordination between the two nations’ legislatures.
Concluding the meeting, Tokayev and Matviyenko toured a photo exhibition dedicated to Kazakhstan-Russia interstate and interparliamentary relations.
