Russia Extends Stay Period for Kazakh Truck Drivers to 180 Days

Russia has extended the allowed temporary stay for professional truck drivers from Kazakhstan and other CIS countries, increasing the limit to 180 days per year.

The new regulation applies to international freight drivers entering Russia under visa-free arrangements. Under the updated rules, drivers will be permitted to remain in the country for up to six months within a calendar year, provided they submit the required application, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and published on the official legal information website.

The measure is intended to support international road transport logistics and improve cross-border trade efficiency between Russia and neighboring countries.

The new rules are set to take effect on June 30, 2026.
