The United Arab Emirates' Presight AI is expanding its investment in Kazakhstan after signing a new agreement to develop smart road technologies, reinforcing the country's ambitions to become a regional leader in artificial intelligence.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Foreign Investors' Council meeting, Presight AI Chief Executive Officer Thomas Pramotedham announced that the company had signed an agreement with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport to advance smart highway solutions across the country, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

Pramotedham said Presight has been operating in Kazakhstan for the past three years and plans to deepen its presence by investing in local talent and expanding its technology projects.

"We believe in Kazakhstan's enormous potential and in President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's vision for AI development," he said, adding that the company aims to build a strong local team while contributing to the country's digital transformation.

The executive also praised the progress of the Astana Smart City project, which integrates municipal services, traffic management, and public transportation into a unified digital platform, allowing city authorities to make faster, data-driven decisions.

Pramotedham noted that he was impressed by Astana's rapid modernization and congratulated the city on launching its light rail system, describing it as a transformative project.

Looking ahead, Presight is also exploring participation in Kazakhstan's Data Center Valley initiative, a project designed to position the country as one of Central Asia's leading artificial intelligence hubs.

The company is evaluating investment opportunities alongside Microsoft and other global technology firms to help build the advanced computing infrastructure needed for AI development.

Drawing on its experience delivering similar projects in the Middle East, Presight says it aims to help Kazakhstan become not only a user of AI technologies but also a regional provider of computing capacity for next-generation artificial intelligence.
