Azerbaijan has expanded the global reach of its agricultural exports, shipping apples to both Spain and Kyrgyzstan for the first time in at least 16 years.

Between January and April 2026, Azerbaijan exported 40,737 tons of apples worth $32.6 million, marking a 22.5% increase in value and a 5% rise in volume compared to the same period last year, The Caspian Post reports via Report.

Russia remained the largest destination for Azerbaijani apples, importing 33,321 tons worth $26.3 million. While export volumes to Russia declined by 7%, the value of shipments increased by 9% year-on-year.

Meanwhile, exports to Uzbekistan surged, reaching 1,679 tons valued at $2.1 million-more than triple the figures recorded during the same period in 2025.
