From September 27 to October 5, the Embassy of Japan in Kyrgyzstan, in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, will present the Japanese Film Festival 2025, a key highlight of the annual JAPAN MONTH autumn cultural program.
This year’s festival broadens its reach beyond the usual two-day event at the Kyrgyz National History Museum by including exclusive preview screenings at three universities across Bishkek, offering greater access to audiences, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
Film enthusiasts will have the opportunity to watch eight recent Japanese films in their original language, accompanied by Russian subtitles. All screenings are free of charge, promoting cultural exchange and appreciation of Japanese cinema.
The festival will officially open on October 4, with an inaugural ceremony featuring remarks from Hideki Goda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Kyrgyzstan, and a representative from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy.
