Kyrgyz Agriculture Ministry Announces Joint Textile Project with Mongolia

The Kyrgyz Ministry of Agriculture has announced that Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia are in talks to jointly launch the Kasiet wool-spinning factory, a project aimed at boosting cooperation in the textile and processing sectors.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Zhanybek Kerimaliev, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan, and a Mongolian delegation visiting Bishkek, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

During the discussions, both sides exchanged insights on the current state of the textile industry and emphasized their shared interest in expanding partnerships in textile production and raw material processing.

The sides agreed to conduct a joint technical and economic assessment of the proposed factory to evaluate its viability under mutually beneficial conditions.

The talks also underscored the importance of developing processing industries as a strategic avenue for job creation and enhancing export capacity, which both countries view as key to sustainable economic development.
