Kyrgyz Wrestler Takes Gold at Prestigious CIS Games

Kyrgyz wrestler Ayana Asamalikova has won the gold medal in the women’s freestyle wrestling competition at the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Games held in Ganja, Azerbaijan.

The wrestling events took place from October 3 to 6, where Asamalikova emerged victorious in the 69-kilogram weight category, securing the top podium spot, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

In addition to Asamalikova’s gold, Kyrgyzstan’s wrestling team celebrated three bronze medals, earned by Asema Torogeldieva (53 kg), Sezim Zholdoshbekova (57 kg), and Akylai Chynybaeva (61 kg).

The Kyrgyz women’s wrestling team was coached by Nursultan Askarbekov, who guided the athletes throughout the competition.
