Kyrgyzstan and South Korea Ink MoU to Boost Digital Education Collaboration

The Kyrgyz Education Ministry and the Department of Education of a South Korean province have formalized a partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance collaboration in digital education.

Deputy Minister of Education Albert Makhmetkulov highlighted that digital transformation is a key priority for Kyrgyzstan’s education sector, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

He expressed optimism about the cooperation, noting South Korea’s highly developed education system as an ideal partner.

“The signing of this memorandum marks the beginning of an active and comprehensive bilateral partnership,” Makhmetkulov said.

The agreement will support Kyrgyzstan’s ongoing shift to a 12-year education model, where advisory assistance and teacher capacity-building are essential. Selected Kyrgyz teachers will receive training in South Korea, while digital education workshops will be organized within Kyrgyzstan, with the ministry managing participant selection and local coordination.

In addition, the South Korean side will offer humanitarian and technical support to Kyrgyz schools, reinforcing efforts to modernize the educational environment.
