Kyrgyzstan Boosts Agriculture with Over 60 New Facilities

In 2025, Kyrgyzstan commissioned 63 new facilities as part of its agro-industrial development program, focusing on agricultural product processing and trade-logistics infrastructure.

The projects include trade-logistics centers, enterprises for processing grains, fruits, berries, vegetables, dairy, meat, fish, wool, and vegetable oils, as well as organic production facilities, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

These initiatives have created 2,707 new jobs, contributing to regional development, higher employment, and strengthening the country’s agro-industrial capacity. From January to November 2025, the food industry’s share of total industrial output reached 17.4 per cent.

Preliminary data show that agro-industrial enterprises produced 94.2 billion soms ($7.876 billion) worth of food products over 11 months, with a physical volume index of 127.8 per cent, indicating strong growth.

Looking ahead, under the national development program through 2030, Kyrgyzstan plans to commission 385 agro-processing enterprises, aiming to raise the processing rate to 25 per cent. The total investment in this sector is projected at 20.96 billion soms ($1.752 billion).

In 2026, 75 new processing enterprises are planned, with an estimated 9.1 billion soms ($760.909 million) in investments. The Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that comprehensive work will continue meeting the set targets, ensuring ongoing growth of the agro-industrial sector.
