Kyrgyzstan Boosts Public Sector Pay with New Increases Starting April

Kyrgyzstan is set to raise salaries for public sector employees under a new decree signed by President Sadyr Japarov, aiming to improve compensation across key state-funded professions.

Beginning April 1, a new presidential compensation payment will be introduced for workers in education, healthcare, culture, social protection, and related fields, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Eligible employees will receive up to 15,000 soms per position, while technical and junior support staff, along with civilian personnel in law enforcement agencies, will receive 5,000 soms.

The reforms go further later in the year. Starting September 1, salary supplements for certain categories of civil servants will increase by up to 50%, depending on job complexity, performance, and overall work quality. In addition, selected government employees will receive an additional 15,000-som compensation, excluding specific agencies.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has been tasked with implementing the decree and adjusting the national budget for 2026-2028 accordingly, while the Presidential Administration will oversee execution.
