Kyrgyzstan is reducing its reliance on Chinese automobiles while increasing imports of South Korean cars.
In 2025, the country imported over 139,000 passenger vehicles from nearly 60 countries. The largest share-60,000 cars-came from South Korea, up 15,800 compared to 2024. In contrast, imports from China dropped to 49,500 vehicles, a decrease of 17,200, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Interestingly, imports from the Korean Peninsula were not limited to South Korea: one car was imported from North Korea.
