Kyrgyzstan and Russia are holding talks in Moscow on the supply of fuel and lubricants, as rising procurement costs push up gasoline prices in Bishkek.

Kyrgyzstan’s First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiyev, said the recent increase in fuel prices was linked to higher purchase costs, The Caspian Post reports via 24.kg.

Addressing the rise in the price of AI-92 gasoline, Amangeldiyev explained that the increase came despite previously introduced price regulations because suppliers were facing higher procurement costs.

Amangeldiyev said Kyrgyz representatives are currently negotiating in Moscow over the supply of all types of fuel and lubricants.

The talks come as fuel prices in Bishkek have recently increased. The price of AI-92 gasoline rose from 84.9 soms to 86.9 soms per liter, while AI-95 increased from 97.9 to 99.9 soms per liter.

Diesel fuel also became more expensive, rising from 98.3 to 99.9 soms per liter.
