Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek Drops Fifth-Round Match to Kazakhstan’s Zhayyk in CAVA Volleyball League

Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek Volleyball Club has faced its first defeat in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Champions League, falling 0-3 to Kazakhstan’s Zhayyk in the fifth round of the competition.

The tournament is taking place in Malé, Maldives, from July 17 to 23, and features clubs from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Prior to this loss, Bishkek had maintained a strong performance, winning four consecutive matches against Club HDC, Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Help Nepal, and Dhivehi Sifainge. The team is currently ranked second, although several matches are still pending among other participants.

Under the competition’s round-robin format, each team plays once against every other, with the top two teams advancing to the final.
