Kyrgyzstan significantly increased the production of motor fuels during the first five months of 2026, reflecting growing activity in the country’s refining sector.
Gasoline production jumped by 53% year-on-year between January and May, reaching 101,200 tons, The Caspian Post reports via The Moscow Times.
Diesel fuel output recorded an even stronger increase, rising 69% compared to the same period last year to 102,800 tons.
The sharp growth highlights expanding domestic refining capacity and increasing fuel production across the country.
Kyrgyzstan currently operates seven mini oil refineries. The largest is the Junda refinery, owned by China's Shanxi Coal Chemical Industry Group, with an annual processing capacity of 800,000 tons of crude oil.
Another major player is Kyrgyz Petroleum Company, part of the state-owned Kyrgyzneftegaz structure, which has an annual refining capacity of 500,000 tons.
