Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to travel to Kyrgyzstan to take part in the upcoming Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit.
During recent talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Moscow, Putin confirmed his plans to attend the high-level meeting, saying, “We communicate regularly with you, but we still have to meet at the CSTO forum in Bishkek,” The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.
Focus on Regional Peace and Security
At the summit, leaders of CSTO member states are expected to adopt a Declaration of the Collective Security Council, which will include assessments of the global security landscape, regional challenges, and joint measures to strengthen peace and stability within the CSTO’s area of responsibility.
Active Year-End Diplomacy
Putin also noted that he and Tokayev maintain regular communication and plan to meet again before the end of the year during the traditional CIS and EAEU summits in St. Petersburg. “We have a busy program, and it is being implemented,” the Russian leader added.
