Director of the Kyrgyz Tourism Support Development Fund Adilet Januzakov has said that tourism continued strengthening its role in Kyrgyzstan’s economy in 2025, accounting for 4.3 per cent of the country’s gross domestic product.
He shared the figures, noting that the indicator has grown compared with the same period in 2024, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Januzakov emphasized that tourism development should be seen as an economic driver. To support sustainable growth, the government is focusing on the rational use of natural and landscape resources, while at the same time prioritizing their preservation and increasing their attractiveness for visitors.
The sector is also benefiting from a steady rise in tourist arrivals. In 2025, around 10 million people visited the Kyrgyz Republic, reflecting growing international and regional interest in the country.
Kyrgyzstan’s tourism progress has not gone unnoticed globally. Reputable international media outlets, including Lonely Planet, have praised the country for its dynamic tourism development, further boosting its profile as an emerging travel destination.
