Visa-free travel to Slovakia is set to become a reality for holders of diplomatic and official passports, following the upcoming ratification of a bilateral agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia.

The ratification of a visa exemption agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Government of the Slovak Republic is set to be considered by the MPs after the parliamentary recess, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The document has already been submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament).

Under the agreement, citizens holding diplomatic and official passports from both countries will be exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, and transit within Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia for up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

The Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that the approval of this agreement will facilitate business mobility and simplify travel for holders of diplomatic and official passports, strengthening bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and Slovakia.

The agreement was signed during the official visit of Juraj Blanár, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, to Bishkek in April 2025.
