A drone strike hit a railway station in the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy early on October 23, injuring two railway employees.
Head of the Sumy City Military Administration Serhii Kryvosheienko said that the attack occurred around 3:00 a.m. (GMT+3), when drones targeted the station’s territory, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, assisting the victims and working to assess the damage. A 35-year-old worker was hospitalized, while a 28-year-old employee received first aid on site and is in stable condition.
Rescue teams remain at the station, restoring operations and evaluating the extent of infrastructure damage. Officials say the full scale of destruction is still under review.
The strike comes amid an intensifying wave of Russian drone and missile attacks across Ukraine. Just a day earlier, Kyiv was hit by heavy shelling that left 29 people injured, including five children, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration.
City authorities have since announced that Kyiv residents affected by the attacks can apply for property compensation through the YeOpora chatbot.
