A Russian drone strike has hit Ukraine’s Kyiv Region, killing two civilians and injuring several others after striking a residential building in the Bilohorodka community.
Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, said that the attack damaged a multi-story apartment block, igniting a fire on the roof and upper floor. Emergency crews rushed to the scene as residents were evacuated and firefighters worked to contain the blaze, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
Later updates confirmed that two residents-a man and a woman-were killed. Four others sought medical assistance, including a young woman and two children suffering acute stress reactions, as well as a man treated for smoke inhalation. All received on-site care, and psychologists were deployed to support displaced residents.
Authorities said the fire has been brought under control, with emergency teams continuing to monitor the situation.
The strike in Bilohorodka was part of a wider wave of drone attacks across multiple regions. In Kyiv, air raid alerts lasted nearly two hours. Officials reported falling drone debris in the Holosiivskyi district, damaging a roadway and windows of a residential building, as well as roof damage at a non-residential facility. No casualties were reported in the capital.
Further south, Odesa also came under drone attack. In the city’s Kyivskyi district, a drone struck the grounds of an Orthodox monastery, sparking a fire that was quickly extinguished. A private home was damaged elsewhere in the city, with no injuries reported.
Ukrainian authorities say emergency and rescue services remain on high alert as air defenses continue operating and damage assessments proceed across affected areas.
