Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has announced that she has no plans to leave office when her term expires on December 29.
"I am not going anywhere. I am not leaving. I have been asked about this repeatedly. I am here and I will stay," she said in a televised address, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.
Georgia will hold its presidential election on December 14 and the new president will be inaugurated on December 29.
Zourabichvili along with the country"s opposition do not recognize the results of the November 26 election, saying that the new parliament, which will also elect the new president, is illegitimate.
