Two additional cases of monkeypox have been recorded in the Moscow region.

The report said a 43-year-old and a 45-year-old resident of Mytishchi developed a high fever of nearly 39°C (102.4°F), followed the next day by a rash and lesions in the groin area, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Telegram channel Mash.

The patients were unable to identify where they may have contracted the infection and had not traveled abroad.

According to the source, three similar cases had previously been detected in the region.

Earlier, on February 15, monkeypox was confirmed in two men in St. Petersburg who had returned from a vacation in Thailand. They began experiencing symptoms three days after arrival, including chills, fever, headache, and a rash. Both were hospitalized in moderate condition at an infectious diseases facility and were discharged in early March.
