A household gas explosion struck an apartment building in the Russian Black Sea resort city of Sochi, killing one person and injuring another, according to the regional branch of the Emergencies Ministry, The Caspian Post reports, citing TASS.

The explosion occurred in an apartment on the fourth floor, igniting a fire that spread across 15 square meters, according to the ministry’s statement. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to contain the blaze and assist residents.
