Russian forces have carried out more than 20 strikes across Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, injuring civilians and damaging homes, businesses, and public facilities.
Dnipropetrovsk military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha said that the attacks involved drones, artillery, and Grad multiple-launch rocket systems. The heaviest shelling hit the Nikopol, Pavlohrad, and Synelnykove districts, The Caspian Post reports via Hanzha's message in Telegram.
Communities in Nikopol, Marhanets, and Pokrovsk faced intense bombardment. A 42-year-old man was hospitalized in moderate condition. Officials reported damage to businesses, a gymnasium, banks, a post office, a café, a store, and around a dozen vehicles.
In the Bohdanivka community of Pavlohrad district, a 48-year-old woman was injured, while fires broke out in residential buildings and vehicles. Meanwhile, in the Synelnykove district, strikes on Dubovyky and Vasylkivka left an 87-year-old woman wounded, with several homes reportedly destroyed.
Emergency services are working to extinguish fires and assist affected residents, as authorities stress that protecting civilians remains the priority.
The latest wave of strikes follows earlier attacks on the region this month. A large-scale assault on Dnipro previously wounded a newborn baby and damaged a kindergarten and homes. On February 1, Russian forces also struck a bus carrying workers from energy company DTEK - an incident the firm described as its worst tragedy since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Fighting in southern and eastern Ukraine continues, with Dnipropetrovsk remaining under sustained pressure from Russian attacks.
