Russia and Saudi Arabia have officially introduced a mutual visa-free travel regime, opening the door to easier travel between the two countries starting May 11.
The agreement on the mutual abolition of visa requirements between the governments of Russia and Saudi Arabia entered into force on May 11, 2026. The deal was originally signed in Riyadh on December 1, 2025, The Caspian Post reports via Russian Foreign Ministry.
Under the agreement, Russian citizens can now enter and stay in Saudi Arabia without a visa for up to 90 days within a calendar year, either continuously or cumulatively, provided they do not work, study, or reside permanently in the Kingdom.
However, Russians traveling to Saudi Arabia for employment, education, residence, or for Hajj and Umrah during the Hajj season will still need to obtain the appropriate visa.
Saudi Arabian citizens will receive the same visa-free privileges when visiting Russia.
