Russian transport and logistics group FESCO and China's Huayuan International Land Port (Datong) Group have signed a cooperation agreement to expand rail container transportation between Russia and China, strengthening cross-border trade and logistics.
The agreement focuses on developing new rail freight solutions through land border crossings, enhancing cooperation in railway logistics, and increasing container shipments in both import and export directions, The Caspian Post reports via TASS.
According to FESCO, the partnership is expected to accelerate the development of rail container services through Shanxi Province, one of northern China's key logistics hubs.
The collaboration aims to improve cargo flows and boost the efficiency of overland transport routes connecting the two countries as demand for rail freight continues growing.
FESCO, one of Russia's largest transport and logistics companies and part of Rosatom's management structure, operates across port, rail and integrated logistics businesses. The group also manages a fleet of more than 30 cargo vessels, primarily serving its own maritime shipping routes.
