Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has announced that Russia carried out one of the largest air attacks on Ukraine, deploying over 650 strike drones and 30 missiles of various types.
The attacks primarily targeted energy infrastructure, prompting emergency power outages nationwide, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.
The strikes came in multiple waves using Shahed kamikaze drones, cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS and Tu-160 bombers, Kalibr cruise missiles, and Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles from MiG-31Ks. Central and western regions bore the brunt of the attacks.
Kiev was hit at dawn by strike drones, damaging a five-story building in Sviatoshynskyi district and injuring five people. Zhytomyr region suffered for the second consecutive day under heavy aerial assault, with homes, businesses, and a store damaged. Six people were reported injured, including two children. Tragically, a child born in 2021 later died despite medical efforts.
Regional authorities and emergency services continue recovery operations across the affected areas.
