Russia's Drone Attack on Ukraine's Dnipro Leaves Homes Burning

A wave of drone strikes has hit Ukraine's Dnipro city, causing fires across multiple districts and damaging residential buildings, including a direct strike on a high-rise apartment block.

The attack occurred in the early hours of April 23, when multiple groups of drones were launched toward the city, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

The assault triggered widespread fires, with one drone striking a multi-storey residential building and setting several apartments ablaze.

Residents were urged to take shelter as air raid alerts continued throughout the attack. Emergency services later confirmed damage not only to the apartment block but also to a nearby car and a local shop.

Initial reports indicated two injured, but the number later rose to three. Two women, aged 62 and 68, were hospitalized in moderate condition, while a 35-year-old man received outpatient treatment.

Ukraine’s Air Force had warned in advance that multiple drone groups were approaching the area, underscoring the scale of the attack.

The strike is part of a continuing pattern of drone and missile attacks on Ukrainian cities, with previous assaults in Dnipro damaging homes, infrastructure, and cultural sites.
