Russia’s Losses Grow as War in Ukraine Reaches Day 1,427

Russia continues suffering heavy battlefield losses in Ukraine as the war enters its 1,427th day, according to the latest data released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In a combat loss update covering the period from February 24, 2022, to January 20, 2026, Ukrainian officials say around 1.23 million Russian troops have been eliminated since the start of the full-scale invasion. The figures also point to the destruction of tens of thousands of military assets, underscoring the intensity of fighting across multiple front lines, The Caspian Post reports, citing Ukrainian media.

Ukraine’s military reports that more than 116,000 aerial targets - including drones, missiles, and aircraft - have been neutralized. Thousands of tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems, and logistics units have also been destroyed, dealing a significant blow to Russia’s operational capacity.

According to the General Staff, losses continue mounting daily as assessments are verified. Military analysts say the steady pace of personnel and equipment losses highlights the prolonged nature of the conflict and growing pressure on Russia’s reserves and supply chains more than three years into the war.
