Spokesman for Moscow Region Interior Ministry Vladimir Vasenin has said that more than 2,700 foreign nationals who breached Russia’s migration laws will be expelled from Moscow.
In the Moscow region, an additional 4,300 people are also set to be deported for similar violations, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
The measures are part of “Illegal Migrant-2025,” a nationwide operation aimed at tightening enforcement of migration laws and curbing illegal employment.
“Administrative expulsion orders have been issued for 2,700 foreign citizens, with over 1,300 placed in temporary detention centers,” Vasenin said.
He added that during the operation, 803 individuals were forcibly expelled, 43 deported, and 6,000 foreigners banned from entering Russia.
Authorities uncovered more than 12,000 violations of migration rules in Moscow. Over 8,300 foreigners were penalized for violating entry and exit procedures, and 1,300 for breaching residency regulations.
More than 1,000 migrants were fined for breaking labor laws, while employers were found responsible for over 1,400 offenses involving the illegal hiring of foreign workers.
Law enforcement also detained 155 individuals wanted for various crimes, including 21 on federal and 134 on international wanted lists. All have been subjected to the necessary legal procedures.
