Ukraine's Kharkiv has come under a combined Russian drone and missile attack, leaving a residential high-rise directly hit and critical infrastructure damaged.
The assault began around 03:40 a.m. (GMT+2), with Shahed drones launched first, followed by ballistic missiles. Explosions continued to echo across the city for more than an hour, The Caspian Post reports via Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov's message in Telegram.
Damage was recorded in three districts - Kyivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Saltivskyi. Authorities said several multi-apartment buildings and private homes were affected, contact power lines were cut, and a gas pipeline was struck.
Terekhov later confirmed a direct hit on a residential high-rise in the Shevchenkivskyi district. A fire also broke out at an impact site in the Saltivskyi district as emergency crews rushed to contain the damage.
