Russian Strike Injures Medics in Semenivka, Ukraine

Two medical workers have been injured after Russian forces struck an ambulance in Ukraine's Semenivka town.

The ambulance was returning from a call when it was hit, but both medics managed to escape before the direct strike. The extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

Oleksandr Seliverstov, head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi local military administration, did not specify the type of weapon used, though the region has been repeatedly targeted by Russian attack drones. Earlier the same day, a music school in Semenivka was also struck.

Semenivka, about 15 kilometers south of the Ukraine-Russia border, is not on the active frontline but faces frequent attacks. Russian forces have previously targeted medical personnel, including “double-tap” strikes designed to hit rescuers responding to initial attacks.

The incident comes amid ongoing Russian strikes on civilian and infrastructure sites, following a January 5 drone attack on a Kyiv hospital, which killed at least one person and injured four others, despite ongoing US-led peace talks.
